A yellow asterisk on the icon indicates that the computer detects a network but is not connected. If you do not see the icon, the wireless network function is disabled and the network connection has not been set up. • The service set identification (SSID) name on the router must be set to broadcast the network's name so that the computer's wireless utility can detect and connect to the network. Most business networks broadcast their SSID but if you do not see the network name in the list, you must enable the SSID broadcasting feature. Log in to your router by opening your web browser by typing http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 -- depending on your router -- and locate the wireless security settings. Select 'Enable the SSID broadcast,' and click the 'Apply' button. (Ref 1)
